- SLOO creates morphing clusters of sound with a simple control set.
Tim Exile has released a new software synthesiser for Native Instruments' Reaktor.
Short for "Shed Loads Of Oscillators," SLOO features 48 parametric voices for creating dense clusters, or swarms, of synth tones. Swarms are generated by creating variations across multiple parameters, which allow for drastic changes in sound with a simple control set. Along with controls for frequency, filter and LFO modulation, a Morph bar lets users glide between multiple parameters at once. Live Quantise and four editable scales are on hand to make your performances more accurate. You can also randomise all parameters, which can then be recalled.
Exile is no stranger to digital instrument design, having previously built software like Flesh for Native Instruments and his own free plug-ins including SLOW, an experimental reverb, and FLOWs, an algorithmic loop sequencer.
