  • The new home for London College Of Creative Media (LCCM) will include a 200-capacity space, called The Music Box, that'll be used for gigs and club nights. The venue, which is located on Union St in SE1 and is set to open at the end of September, will host internal events with LCCM students, masterclasses with well-known musicians, and regular club nights open to the general public. "The gigs and club nights will strongly support new and independent music," a spokesperson for the venue told RA. The lineups would be "cutting edge" and take in a range of genres, with LCCM booking their own lineups for some events while working with outside promoters on others. Its soundsystem and acoustic setup is being billed as "state of the art." The venue is part of a larger six-floor development, also called The Music Box, that encompasses the LCCM and 41 "luxurious apartments." A promotional brochure for the development mentions the music venue, confirming that it's "fully soundproofed." It also quotes The Music Box architect, Trevor Morriss, who says the development "reaffirms the way that music and architecture can reflect one another."
