- The adventurous label's release plans also include efforts from Max Loderbauer along with Kilchhofer and Hainbach.
Toronto label Marionette has revealed two upcoming records, together with details of the first release on a new series called Little Mary.
Marionette, a vinyl-only concern since launching in 2014, has moved slowly in its first few years of operation, with just four records of wide-ranging electronic music coming from Deer, Laurine Frost, Maxim Wolzyn and Kilchhofer (the latter was highly rated here on RA).
The label now looks to be ramping things up. Its next release is an EP from German experimental artist and Nonplace boss Burnt Friedman, called Dead Saints Chronicles, that's set to arrive in early summer. Shortly after that, Marionette will issue the first-ever solo EP from another longtime German purveyor of abstract electronics, Max Loderbauer—further details are still TBA.
Also in the works is Little Mary, a vinyl and digital offshoot that will focus on split releases and collaborations. It opens in early May with Acosta, which collects productions from Kilchhofer and Hainbach. The record counts as Hainbach's first appearance on wax.
Looking further ahead, Marionette is also planning to issue an album from Kilchhofer. For now, you can listen to one of his Acosta tracks, the nine-minute "Aska."
