HKE has revealed Project 777, a series of seven new albums to be released across seven different labels.
London-based producer David Russo is probably best known for running Dream Catalogue, a label that has pioneered its own mostly ambient take on post-vaporwave music called "dream music." He's a prolific producer in his own right, with more than ten aliases and over a hundred releases in the past few years alone. Now, following the release of his Dragon Soul album for Olde English Spelling Bee, Russo is embarking on a new project that will see him release seven albums before the year is up.
Each LP in Project 777 will feature seven tracks, and will be released on seven different labels, including Antifur, Kudatah, Tekres and BLCR Laboratories. There will also be in an "epilogue" in December on Dream Catalogue sub-label Pyramids, though exact details for that are still forthcoming.
Speaking with Marcel's Music Journal, Russo said these LPs see him move away from ambient music into something more dance-influenced, "going back to things like dubstep wars and grime battles on pirate radio back in the day."
The first album is called No Man Is God and will come through BLCR Laboratories on July 7th. Listen to a track from it called "God Form."
