  • The latest edition of Wysing Arts Centre's annual one-day art and music festival will be curated by NON cofounder Nkisi. The festival, adopting the title of Opaque Poetics, takes place Saturday, September 2nd in the Cambridge venue. Nkisi and Angel-Ho, another NON cofounder, are scheduled to perform. The rest of the lineup so far includes Kamixlo, John T. Gast, clubcouture, Klein, Naee Roberts, patten, Nídia, Sarah Badr, Petit Singe, Felix Lee, terribilis, Tribe Of Colin and Abyss X. Past editions of the festival have focused on "the sonic potential of the voice, instruments and objects," "altered states and multiple identities" and women in experimental electronic music. This year's lineup is described as a collection of "some of the most influential and exciting international artists, musicians and producers of their generation touch[ing] on genres including ambient, techno, industrial and soul." "This is our eighth music festival at Wysing and only the second to be conceptualised and curated by an invited contributor," Wysing Arts Center's Donna Lynas said. "The relationship with Nkisi came about through her playing at Wysing in September last year and I am thrilled to be working with her again on the festival. She has pulled together a stunning lineup; one of great clarity and precision." Photo credit: Maria Jose Govea
