  • Antinote will release the debut self-titled EP from a trio of label artists under the name 18 Rays. The collaboration includes label owner Quentin Vandewalle, AKA Zaltan, alongside Nico Motte and Raphaël Top-Secret. For their first EP they opted for live instrumentation—guitar, bass, drums and vocals—which are complemented by hazy electronics for a sound they're calling "aquatic dream pop." The trio spent five weeks recording it this past winter at Motte's studio, Synth City, in Paris. Motte, who designs all the artwork for the label and also produced the record, released his first album with Antinote, Life Goes On If You Are Lucky, last year. Raphaël Top-Secret also put out a 12-inch, Love So High on Vandewalle's label last year. In May the label released a retrospective compilation called Five Years Of Loving Notes.
