The album is coming out on Lex Records on October 6th.
Andrew Hung will release his first solo album in October.
The artist is best known for his work as Fuck Buttons alongside Benjamin Power, AKA Blanck Mass. Realisationship, coming out on Lex Records, will be his first artist album, though last year he released The Greasy Strangler, a soundtrack for the Jim Hosking-directed black comedy film of the same name. (In the same year, he coproduced the Beth Orton album Kidsticks.)
Realisationship will be the first record to feature Hung's singing voice. The album's opening track, "Say What You Want," signals a sharp turn towards a pastoral guitar sound that eschews the electronic noise of Fuck Buttons. "I can't completely identify with the voice on the record," he says. "Yes, it's me, but it's not me. Singing as an expression is very new to me... I see an oscillation between myself and the character of the album, especially the voice. It's naked vulnerable duality." The album is out October 6th.
