- A reissue of the 1993 record from Chandler's Grampa project is also on the way.
Kerri Chandler is releasing a new single, Checkmate, on Watergate Records in September.
The deep house favorite is returning to the Berlin label after mixing Watergate 15 and putting out a related 12-inch, The Watergate Files, back in 2014. His second single this year features Dutch techno innovator Steve Rachmad and Cinthie, the Berlin-based DJ, producer and Watergate resident, on remix duties.
Before Checkmate arrives, Chandler's 1993 Grampa 12-inch She's Crazy, released through Abigail Adam's influential Movin' Records, will get a reissue. Grampa was a project involving Chandler, his production collaborator Yahya McDougald and his grandfather Calvin Reed, Sr., who provided vocals.
