- Fragments, the Dutch producer's first record, will be reissued in September.
ART Records' remaster series continues with Ross 154's debut 12-inch, Fragments, from 1993.
Ross 154 was the first alias used by Dutch producer Jochem Peteri, now best known as Newworldaquarium. Fragments was his first-ever record, originally released on Stefan Robbers' Eevo-Lute imprint, and it features four techno tracks along with four shorter ambient interludes. The whole record has been remastered by ART boss Kirk Degiorgio, and comes with new artwork.
Inspired by UK acts like Degiorgio and B12, early Detroit techno and Duran Duran, Peteri recorded Fragments at Robbers' parents house. "About halfway through recording," Peteri says, "All power went off because his mom was frying us some snacks and the deep-fryer short-fused." He also says working with Robbers' Eevo-Lute label gave his techno "a unique Dutch synthwave spin."
Fragments is the second in ART's remaster series, following May's reissue of Photek's T'Raenon.
