- The singer and producer won for his debut album, Process.
Sampha has won the 2017 Mercury Prize for his album Process.
The UK artist, real name Sampha Sisay, beat out The xx, Ed Sheeran, Stormzy, Alt-J and others for the prestigious music prize, which comes with £20,000 in cash. Last year Skepta took home the prize, over Anohni, Radiohead and David Bowie. Other electronic-oriented past winners include James Blake and Portishead.
Process came out this past February on Young Turks.
