The beatless LP features guest spots from Trim, Dusk and Farrah.
Those Moments focuses on the weightless grime sound pioneered by Mumdance and Logos. Like Keysound's recent Rollage series of EPs, it's centered on 130 BPM. The label says that each track is "a distillation of a fleeting moment... short and constrained, relying on only voices, synth and sub bass."
"I'd had a tough six months," says Blackdown, AKA Martin Clark. "I'd had to hold it together and not lose my nerve. Early on in the months I'd so nearly had a massive, positive life change but... it slipped out of my grasp. I was so focused on holding it together, I couldn't allow myself to really write music. Then, when things resolved themselves, and I'd figured out this new weightless way of working, Those Moments just came flooding out."
The album features collaborations with grime MC Trim, Clark's longtime production partner Dusk and vocalist Farrah. It's the first solo Blackdown album, though he's previously released a few albums in collaboration with Dusk.
