  • Numero Group will handle the first-ever vinyl release of Laraaji's Vision Songs - Vol. I. The label says the tape from the veteran new age musician "is the Laraaji album like no other, located at the intersection of new age and gospel... Casio synth jams recorded at spiritual retreat guest rooms and a tiny bedroom on the Upper West Side in 1984." The original version of the cassette was self-released by Laraaji four years after the release of his breakthrough Brian Eno-produced album, Ambient 3 (Day Of Radiance). The reissue comes amidst an ongoing wave of interest in the zither player, composer and laughter meditation guru born Edward Larry Gordon. He just released two new albums, has collaborated with modern acts such as Sun Araw and his back catalogue continues to be the subject of reissues by modern new age and ambient leaning labels. Check out a clip of Laraaji performing Vision Songs - Vol. I track "All Of A Sudden" live.
