  • The lineup for the second edition of Houghton Festival has been announced. The festival, which is curated by Craig Richards and produced by Gottwood Festival, will return to Houghton Hall in Norfolk from August 9th through 12th. This year's lineup includes some DJs who played in 2017—Ricardo Villalobos, Andrew Weatherall, Seth Troxler, Nicolas Lutz, Ben UFO, Magda, Sonja Moonear, Optimo, Margaret Dygas and Vladimir Ivkovic among them—while the likes of Zip, Objekt, Prosumer, Call Super, Jane Fitz and Shanti Celeste will play Houghton for the first time. More names will be added to the bill. (See the full lineup so far below.) "By presenting music, art and a promised experience in an honest and restrained way meant those four days in Norfolk last year were not only magical but they were believable," Richards says. "The setting proved to be nothing but perfect. Our aim is to build on the foundations of last year's success, but instead of growing we're sticking to the story with minor improvements and a strong belief in the initial concept. Artists, DJs and musicians will be presented with meritocracy and equality. Everyone who performs will be given a chance to shine and everyone who attends will be treated to the best of everything." The festival will retain its 24-hour licence. Houghton Festival's art and sculpture programme will be revealed soon, though Houghton Estate will host a Damien Hirst exhibition this summer, with some of the famed artist's "most recognisable sculptures" installed in the estate's gardens. A limited number of advance tickets will be made available at 9 AM UK time on Wednesday, January 31st, exclusively for people who bought tickets to Houghton Festival 2017. (A private advance ticket link will be mailed on Tuesday, January 30th, to these ticket buyers only.) Tickets will then go on general sale on Friday February 2nd, at 9 AM UK time.
