- Their first record, which also features Organ Tapes, is out today.
Club Chai has just released 8ULENTINA's debut EP, EUCALYPTUS.
The Oakland-based label describes the six-track record as "addressing self care, ritual and healing... [with] nontraditional approaches to composition, utilizing Middle Eastern percussive sounds, recordings of objects or making processes." London artist Organ Tapes also appears on EUCALYPTUS.
The record follows an EP by Thoom from last year, and it's only Club Chai's second release after the label's all-encompassing compilation from January 2017.
Club Chai was started in Oakland by 8ULENTINA and FOOZOOL as a party and platform highlighting "diasporic narratives, women and trans artists, DJs and producers." They featured in Matt McDermott's recent survey of the Bay Area scene, which you can read here.
