- The six-tracker pays respect to Roland founder and engineer Ikutaro Kakehashi.
Steven Julien is releasing a mini-LP called Bloodline.
The English artist, formerly known as FunkinEven, will release the six-tracker on his own Apron Recordings on April 17th. It's his first release since 2016's debut LP, Fallen, and follows 12-inches on Apron from the likes of Max Graef and Hanna.
Bloodline pays respect to Roland founder and engineer Ikutaro Kakehashi, who died in April last year, by including sounds from the Roland TR-808 in every track. It also riffs on the influence of Julien's family lineage: "the influence my family has given me growing up and my ancestors from Africa to native Indians from the Caribbean, has all played a big part in the music I create."
