- Nick Dunton's label, Surface Records, is also making a comeback.
A rare new record from the 65D Mavericks is due out in June.
The Notions Of Progress EP will be the first solo release in five years for 65D Mavericks, the well-regarded UK techno outfit that's now an alias for Nick Dunton—his partner in the project, Richard Polson, died in 2006. Made up of four hard-edged tracks, it'll also be the project's most expansive release since a pair of double-packs, Defining The Symptom and Earthbound, from back in 2002.
Dunton will put out the EP on Surface Records, his and Polson's longtime label operation, which itself is relaunching after five years of silence. Other upcoming Surface releases will feature the likes of Claude Young and Orphx's Rich Oddie, both of whom have previously appeared on the label or its Limited offshoot. There's also a new collaboration from Dunton and Simon Shreeves (AKA Mønic) called The Downfall Of Society.
