June headliners for the new "shelter" feature Oliver Hafenbauer, Gonno, Haruka and Bell Towers.
A new club called ? will open its doors in Hong Kong on June 1st.
The team behind the venue says the name, "which can be pronounced 'Mihn' for the western world," is "a Chinese radical representing a 'roof' or a 'shelter,' as we envision our club to be a safe space for anybody wishing to spend a night dancing without being judged, harassed or discriminated against." They add, "To safeguard this vision, there will be a no-photo policy applied inside the club."
The 100-capacity room in Sheung Wan will be rigged up with a Funktion-One soundsystem and will be "90 percent composed of a dance floor." All drinks will be sold via "ultra-modern" vending machines rather than over a bar, in an effort to conserve space.
Opening night will see locals Romain Fx and Youry christening the venue, while international guests in ?'s first month include Gonno, Oliver Hafenbauer, Bell Towers, Haruka, S.O.N.S and Graz.
