  • Banned UK drill videos have shown up on Pornhub. Veteran UK DJ and rap personality Tim Westwood has been recording live "Crib Sessions" with up-and-coming UK drill crews. Some of those videos were banned from YouTube in May, following requests from the London Metropolitan Police that they be taken down for "promoting knife crime." Now, a few of those "Crib Sessions," featuring groups like BSIDE, 1011 and Zone, have resurfaced on a new hosting platform—Pornhub, Dazed reports. The Times recently published an article stating that Westwood's YouTube channel includes 32 videos identified as "inciting violence" by the Metropolitan Police. The piece accuses Westwood of profiting off "violent gang videos." (The DJ hosts interviews with of-the-moment rappers from the UK and US on his TimWestwoodTV YouTube channel.) Back in spring, however, academics and labor MPs met with representatives of the London music community, who noted the Metropolitan Police's censorship of drill videos in light of an uptick in knife crime is "'lazy' and unfairly targets black music."
