The series will focus on the Israeli duo's travels to meet and record indigenous artists from around the world.
The series will follow the Israeli duo, Niv Arzi and Dori Sadovnik, on their travels around the world as they seek "to record local musicians, indigenous instruments and present workshops for youth music schools." The first volume of Trips focuses on a 2017 excursion to Ethiopia and Ivory Coast, in the form of a documentary and a three-track EP called In Africa. It's due out on !K7 in August.
In Africa features a track with Yakomin, a seven-piece Ivorian band, and a song made with students from the Insaac Music School in Abidjan, the capital of the Ivory Coast. "Addis" features Ethiopian wind and string instruments. Red Axes will also put on a show on August 23rd with three members of Yakomin at the Sacred Festival in Jerusalem.
The documentary will be released at a later date, though the duo have shared a trailer.
