The only known production copy of the LP's original 1987 Canadian pressing has been snapped up.
The LP, AKA The Funk Bible, was originally recorded in 1987 as a follow up to Sign O' The Times, but it wasn't released until 1994 after the late artist ordered his label, Warner Bros., to shelve it and destroy every copy at the last minute. By that point, some promos were already in circulation. The $27,500 vinyl record was the only known production copy of the LP's original 1987 Canadian pressing.
The previous record for the most expensive Discogs purchase was also held by Prince; a US copy of The Black Album went for $15,000 in April 2016.
