DJ Shadow, UNKLE, Thom Yorke and Dr. Octagon will feature on the soundtrack for The Man From Mo' Wax.
Mo' Wax will release the soundtrack to accompany a film about its owner, James Lavelle.
The soundtrack is a mix of songs that inspired Lavelle, including "See And Don't See" by the soul singer Marie "Queenie" Lyons, and classics from the Mo' Wax catalogue, including cuts from DJ Shadow's Endtroducing..... LP and UNKLE, the group led by Lavelle and Tim Goldsworthy with whom DJ Shadow, Thom Yorke, Beastie Boys' Mike D and Ian Brown all collaborated. The film, called The Man From Mo' Wax, is helmed by first-time director Matthew Jones, and focuses on Lavelle's relationship with DJ Shadow, the UNKLE project, and the label's rise, particularly as a leading player in the ascendant trip-hop sound. The label has also released full-lengths by acts such as Luke Vibert, Andrea Parker and Urban Tribe. The film will be released in selected UK cinemas on August 31st.
