- The first volume comes out via DFA in October.
Eric Copeland is kicking off a new series for DFA Records called Trogg Modal.
The album, the first of a two-part series, apparently picks up where Copeland's Goofballs album for DFA last year left off—a stripped-back, hardware-driven style he calls "Freakbeat 4/4"—although the label says this record is "less serious and more carefree" than its predecessor.
DFA also says the seven tracks on Trogg Modal Vol. 1 are made from "chunky percussive layers, hard steady kicks and tweaked loopy vocals," with a "playful vibe best described as a tropical-industrial hybrid."
The second volume is due out in early 2019.
