- The outlet's first EP comes from Dutch synthwave act Karel.
Well-loved Dutch DJ Job Jobse has started a new label called De Vlieger.
It will kick off with a six-song collection by the Dutch artist Karel. Jobse says, "A desire to release music from friends had always been there, but only when I witnessed Karel's unique energy and his ability to write a perfect pop song in just a few lines, this desire took its first form." He describes the resultant EP, Life, as "six synthwave songs that are low on fidelity, but high on feeling. The 12-inch was recorded between 2016 and 2018 at Karel's home studio with three synthesizers and a drum computer.
Listen to Karel's "Out" via De Vlieger's Bandcamp.
