  • Nyege Nyege Tapes's next release features recordings of ritualistic kadodi music. Kadodi, performed by Robert Mugamba's Domadana Kadodi Performers group, follows a twice-yearly rite-of-passage ritual where boys (basinde) become men (basani). The record consists of a two-part recording of the ritual—"mesmerising, rhythmelodic percussion and crowd hollers," according to the label—as well as club-ready remixes from Uganda's Sun C and Tanzania's Bamba Pana.
