  • Eurorack manufacturer 4ms has announced a new range of miniature modular cases. The Pods should appeal to producers interested in bringing specific modules into a wider setup, or those with semi-modular synths looking to expand their system. The low price and small size should also appeal to newcomers keen to explore the format as well as musicians using portable devices like the Volca, Boutique and Pocket Operator ranges. Modular cases are also one of the most expensive parts of a Eurorack system, a barrier that Pods reduces significantly. Available in 20hp, 26hp and 32hp sizes, there is enough space for a medium-sized module or a set of smaller devices. Key to the Pods' appeal is a daisy-chained power supply, which allows you to link multiple devices together, giving you the option to expand a portable system. Each size comes in powered and unpowered options and the power supply is not included. The Pod20 costs $55 unpowered and $99 powered, the Pod26 $60 and $109 while the Pod32 is $65 or $119. There is no official release date but 4ms says the Pods are "coming soon." 4ms is a leading manufacturer in the Eurorack market, best known for modules like the Dual Looping Delay, Spectral Multiband Resonator and Stereo Triggered Sampler.
