- After opening in 2013, the Netherlands venue will close its doors next summer.
BAR, a popular club in Rotterdam, is closing next year.
The Netherlands space, which opened in 2013, announced the looming closure in a Facebook post: "As a forward-thinking nightclub in downtown Rotterdam with a progressive approach to electronic music, we have done our utmost to show the audience a broad program with experimental electronic music and local talent development, adding to the value of the local music scene... After six years we have reached our limits here when it comes to programming and building a community."
The BAR team says the club will close on June 30th, 2019 and that, "currently, we are undertaking steps to create a new venue outside the city centre of Rotterdam," however the plans for that space are still "uncertain." The program for BAR's closing season is still to be announced. For now, its staff says, "We look forward to seeing you on the dance floor."
