- Activated Clown is out January 11th.
Sun Araw (real name Cameron Stallones), Tomo Jacobson and Jon Leland will release a new album as S. Araw Trio XIII next month via NNA Tapes.
The album, titled Activated Clown, is a live recording of a gig in Braga, Portugal, the results of which are captured on two side-long tracks totaling 52 minutes. Both tracks are improv jams that the label calls "future-minded MIDI jazz suites," recorded with traditional instruments such as "whistles, shakers and Fender Rhodes" alongside "warped synthesis, electronic drums and truly extra-terrestrial textures."
It's their third release as a trio (if you include the Warsaw LP, which was given away to Sun Araw's mailing list subscribers) and one of numerous Sun Araw releases that Leland has collaborated on with Stallones and others.
