  • Perron is reopening. The building housing the Rotterdam club was scheduled for demolition to make way for apartment blocks, forcing the venue to shut in April 2015. Three-and-a-half years later the building remains standing, prompting former owner Aziz Yagoub to petition the city to consider reopening the club. The ensuing talks were successful, and the club is celebrating the occasion with a party this Thursday, November 29th. Perron had been used intermittently for REC Festival in the intervening years, and while the reopening has been described as permanent, the future of the area remains unclear, with developments still slated to take place. Earlier this month, another Rotterdam club, BAR, announced plans to close on June 30th, 2019, stating "After six years we have reached our limits here when it comes to programming and building a community."
