  • GU026 has been confirmed with James Lavelle getting the call up while travelling to Bucharest, Romania, where his second Global Underground mix album will be based. GU boss Andy Horsfield explains why Bucharest saying, "We have chosen Romania because there is a massive buzz on the parties that have been happening out there recently. It's a very similar vibe to Budapest 3 or 4 years ago - when things go off in Eastern Europe they really go off!!! There's a real underground feel to the clubs and its probably one of the most important emerging markets for dance music in the world, with a real rawness and energy to the scene that will serve as an amazing backdrop to this CD". On Saturday December 13, the Studio Martin club will be play host to Lavelle in a night that will be set the base for the mix album. Lavelle comments on what to look out for. "Ultimately I want the album to reflect a really great listening experience" says James. "It will be a progression of the last album and will contain the records I like playing out but it will also contain tracks that people will hopefully find a bit different. The mix will be a bit more fucked-up than before and a bit more eclectic. I want to include music that I've worked on over the last few years and remixes that we have done as UNKLE. I also want to include some exclusive re-edits and tracks from some of my favourite producers." GU026 Bucharest is set for release in March 2004.
