- DISRUPTION is out now.
Lara Sarkissian, who also goes by the name FOOZOOL, has released her debut EP on Club Chai.
The label says that DISRUPTION is "an electronic soundtrack to an imagined fictional film inspired from stories of Armenian mythology, the transition from the worship of nature to the roles of gods and goddesses and tying these narratives to encounters with familial spirits." The five-track record incorporates traditional Armenian instruments, samples from old cartoons as well as "distorted narrations of rituals and sounds shaped from plateaued landscapes over time."
DISRUPTION follows Club Chai releases from Jasmine Infiniti and 8ULENTINA this year. It also comes in the wake of Sarkissian's artist residency at the Institute For Sound And Music in Berlin.
