- ThrillHammer's Bohemian Berlin Disco was written by Bubbles and San Francisco producer Duserock
Anthony "Bubbles" Torres has another posthumous release on the way.
Torres was a San Francisco DJ, artist and LGBTQ activist who was shot and killed in a suspected hate crime in September 2017. He had been writing a track with Bay Area producer Duserock at the time of his death. Duserock and Coltorious would go on to finish the track, "Bohemian Berlin Disco," and performed it on the main stage of San Francisco's Pride 2018.
San Francisco rave pioneer Gavin Hardkiss will put it out on his Hardkiss Music label. Hardkiss also has a hand in a few remixes of the track. He teams up with Duserock for the "G&R Dub" and gives the original an acid makeover with his "Defender Of Androgyny Remix." Dtek and Sleight Of Hands (Manny Alfarez and Phil Rene Collins) also provide versions.
The label calls "Bohemian Berlin Disco" a "San Francisco anthem in the making... with enough to entertain the new, the old and the fabulous from the Castro, the Tenderloin and the Marina."
Bubbles' suspected murderer, Hieu Trung Nguyen, is still at large. Paranoid London released a tribute to Bubbles featuring Torres' sampled vocals earlier this year.
