  • Blankstairs is gearing up to release three new compilations called Tripped this year to mark its sixth anniversary. The American techno label, though now based in New York, started in Portland, and the press release says the trilogy will reflect "both spiritual homes for the label—Cascadia and New York City." The first volume of Tripped includes Seattle producers Archivist and Aos, along with New York-based artists such as Cory James, Soramimi, Løt.te and Heidi Sabertooth. Artists confirmed for volumes two and three include Bergsonist, Solpara, IVVY and James Place. Blankstairs started as a DIY party in Portland, before founders Nathaniel Young and Warren Mark Way—both visual artists—turned it into a label in 2013. They've since put out records from U.S. Hard, Dream City, Archivist and more, with a slant towards atmospheric and ambient-leaning techno. Listen to Aos's "We Used To Be."
