Erica Synths has announced the Plasma Drive, a Eurorack version of Gamechanger Audio's Plasma Pedal.
Tailored for extreme distortion, the Plasma Drive generates a unique style of clipping for colouring, saturating and destroying your sounds. The module boosts the level up to 3000 volts, taking the form of a "series of continuous high-voltage discharges in a xenon-filled tube" on the module's front panel—Erica compares the effect to "playing a lightning bolt of electricity."
Apart from controlling your distortion with control voltage, the Plasma Drive also includes an octave shifter and an equaliser for shaping the sound going in or out of the module. It's due out February 20th, and the price is yet to be confirmed.
