The "Sandstorm" producer will represent Finland in the annual global contest.
Ville Virtanen, most famous for producing 1999 trance track "Sandstorm," will be representing Finland along with vocalist Sebastian Rejman. For the contest, Virtanen will produce three new songs that feature Rejman, who is a member of local band The Giant Leap. The three tracks will be released weekly between February 8th and 22nd. One of those three songs will be chosen for the Eurovision Song Contest broadcast in May after a TV broadcast in March.
"This is a huge challenge for me in many ways," Virtanen says. "When I was asked to represent Finland I felt a bit scared at first, but there was no way I could say no to my country!" This year's contest will take place in Tel Aviv, as last year's winners were from Israel.
