  • Rvng Intl. sub-label Freedom To Spend has revealed its next reissue project, June Chikuma's Les Archives. The label run by Matt Werth, Pete Swanson and Jed Bindeman will release a "reinvented version" of Chikuma's rare 1986 album Divertimento, originally released on Toru Hatano’s Picture label under the name Atsushi Chikuma. Chikuma has composed for film, TV and video games for thirty-plus years, best known for her techno and drum & bass-flavoured soundtracks for Hudson Soft's Bomberman franchise. For Divertimento, Chikuma used "a KORG SDD-3000 digital delay, an audible, overt display of unclassified drum machines and samplers and a litany of literary references," the label says. Les Archives presents remastered versions of Divertimento's four tracks, as well as two unreleased pieces recorded during the original sessions. Watch a short video preview for Les Archives, featuring Chikuma's "Broadcast Profanity Delay." Listen to the full track here.
