  • Smalltown Supersound is releasing a full-length of archival music by the Norwegian composer Erik Wøllo. Sources (Early Works 1986 - 1992) features ten tracks recorded around the time of three of Wøllo's albums: Dreams Of Pyramids, Traces and Silver Beach. He describes the record, which spans ambient, kosmiche and more, as "music made on impulse and with an eagerness to create." "There was lots of new equipment coming out during these years, and this reflects the music I made at the time," he adds. "I was inspired by artists like Hassell, Eno and Budd. Also a big influence was Klaus Schulze after seeing him at the legendary Oslo club, Club 7 in 1984." Born in 1961, Wøllo is known for his minimalistic and emotional compositions.
