  • Pessimist and Karim Maas have made an album together. Out in April on Pessimist Productions, the self-titled LP spans 12 untitled tracks, touching on "dub-fissured hip-hop, sinister ambient textures and voidal techno pressure," the label says. Available digitally and on vinyl, it'll be Pessimist's first LP since his debut on Blackest Ever Black in 2017, which landed in our year-end favorites list. It's the first full-length that Karim Mass has been a part of, following a solo EP for new-school drum & bass label UVB-76 last year. Real name Tom Cooper, he's also a member of the Ruffhouse trio. Listen to clips of the album and read Mark Smith's profile of Pessimist.
