  • The company behind Williamsburg nightclub Schimanski will open a venue called Amuse in Coney Island in May. DEG Presents (formerly known as RPM Presents), the company run by New York nightlife mogul Eddie Dean, will build a 20,000-square foot tent inside the Coney Island Art Walls space. The bookings will include dance music and DJs, Billboard reports, though they haven't announced any names yet. Amuse will also be available for private events. Located near the boardwalk and amusement park at Coney Island, Amuse will be a scalable structure for events of different sizes, with a maximum capacity of 4000 people and a schedule of daytime and nighttime events. There will be food and beverage stands on site as well. They expect to operate between Memorial Day and Labor Day each summer. Programming at Amuse is still TBA.
