  • A forthcoming documentary, Electronic Voyager, will cover the life and legacy of synthesizer pioneer Bob Moog. The Robert Fantinatto-directed film features Jean Michel Jarre, Gary Numan and Yes keyboardist Rick Wakeman, as well as Moog's daughter, Michelle Moog-Kassa. It documents Moog-Kassa's journey across North America and Europe, "retracing her father's groundbreaking footsteps," according to the press release. Waveshaper Media, also responsible for the modular synth documentary I Dream Of Wires, are producing the Electronic Voyager. The film's Indiegogo campaign also features a vinyl companion compilation, Electronic Voyages: Early Moog Recordings 1964-1969. The eight-track set focuses on '60s "composers who adopted the Moog as their primary instrument," including Herbert Deutsch, Joel Chadabe, Lothar and the Hand People, Intersystems (feat. John Mills-Cockell of Syrinx), Ruth White, Max Brand, Paul Earls and Moog himself. Only three of the tracks have previously been released on vinyl. The compilation will be released in June with the film set to premiere in 2020. Head over to the Electronic Voyager's Indiegogo campaign for more information. Listen to Bob Moog's "The Abominatron."
