  • Ultra 2020 won't be taking place in Miami. The annual music festival, which has been happening in Miami for the past 21 years, released a statement today that they have "voluntarily terminated [their] license with the City Of Miami... [and] are now finalizing a new South Florida location that will serve as an incredible and permanent home for Ultra Music Festival." "It is clear the festival experience on Virginia Key was simply not good enough," the statement adds. Ultra moved to Virginia Key after the Miami City Council voted against it returning to its long-time location of Bayfront Park. But after this year's festival, the Virginia Key Advisory Board voted against Ultra happening in its new location in 2020, partly due to stressed-out fish and other environmental impacts in the area. Read the full statement below.
Ultra also hosts other events around the world, including in Japan, Mexico, Brazil, Australia and Croatia.
