  • We Release Whatever The Fuck We Want Records will release Yutaka Hirose's Nova + 4 on July 5th. The reissue package includes Hirose's ambient classic Soundscape 2: Nova along with 50 minutes of unreleased, contemporaneous material, as well as liner notes by the artist in English and Japanese. Soundscape 2: Nova was originally released in 1986 as part of the Misawa Home Corporation's Soundscape series, meant for use in their prefabricated houses. The record is known for its novel mix of nature sounds and synthesizers. The reissue's bonus LP includes four unreleased pieces made for installations, which Hirose describes as "not music per se but rather sound sculptures." Nova + 4 will be released on digital, CD and vinyl. A unique cassette version comes without the nature sounds and includes an additional track. Ken Hidaka, who was interviewed for our recent feature, The Japanese reissue phenomenon: a view from the inside, assisted with licensing.
