- The Beats In Space DJ will be in conversation with Lorna Clarkson at Freda's ahead of his radio show's 20th anniversary celebration.
Resident Advisor will be recording an RA Exchange podcast with Tim Sweeney at Freda's in Sydney on June 8th.
The night will see the New Yorker discussing his long and successful career as a DJ and host of Beats In Space, his influential radio show on WNYU which just hit 20 years of broadcasting (and is just shy of 1000 episodes). Past guests on the show have included DJ Harvey, Four Tet, Prins Thomas, Avalon Emerson and Andrew Weatherall, while Sweeney's Beats In Space label, launched in 2011, is now nearing 40 releases and has featured work from Powder, Tornado Wallace and Palmbomen II.
The night kicks off in the main bar of Freda's at 7:30 PM, with Sydney's own titan of dance music radio, Lorna Clarkson, conducting the interview. Once the talk has wrapped up, Sweeney will be jumping on the decks at the venue for a Beats In Space 20th anniversary party with support from Adi Toohey.
