The new operation is taking over the former Sankeys Ibiza venue.
Located in the former Sankeys Ibiza, the new club says it will focus on pushing independent, underground artists and creating a more "intimate and personal" environment than your average Ibiza club.
Weekly residencies and one-off events running across weekends will mark the club's initial roll-out phase, with Lindsey Matthews, Kellie Allen and Stephane Ghenacia all tipped as residents alongside music director Ryan O Gorman. Nicholas Dixon and Andreas Brooks meanwhile will be covering the club's visual design for the opening phase. A larger refurbishing project and a bigger events programme will be rolled out in 2020.
It all kicks off on Sunday, July 7th with Steve Lawler's Warriors party, which will see Fuse's Enzo Siragusa and Seb Zito join Ben Sterling. The lineup for the party's second room will be announced later in the week.
O Gorman had this to say about Octan's musical programming.
The events we plan to work with in 2019 are primarily four-to-the-floor musically, from house to techno generally speaking. We are blessed with a multitude of smaller rooms at the club where we will be focussing on more alternative sounds and we will be experimenting with some special one-off events this summer. Phase two will see a more complete weekly program opening the venue up to a broader range of musical tastes. Warriors is the first residency we have announced—this was the venue's previous flagship event. Steve Lawler's distinctive style along with his focus on upcoming talent galvanised the night's sound in particular with young British audiences and the worker community in Ibiza, so it was important for us to retain this heritage. We will be announcing some really big residencies in both the house and techno circles in the coming week. These will be a little bit more European in flavour. People can expect real music from real scenes at Octan Ibiza.
