  • Seoul Community Radio is hosting a dedicated electronic music stage at a festival promoting peace between North and South Korea. DMZ Peace Train Festival, which launched last year, will return to Soi Mountain in South Korea's Gangwon Province this weekend. The event site sits right at the border between North and South. (DMZ is local shorthand for "Korean Demilitarized Zone.") Seoul Community Radio, one of the capital city's main dance music hubs, will host a stage at the festival, with slots for domestic acts (Akimbo, Dguru, Co.kr, Dasom, Suk, Jangster, SCR Soundsystem) alongside names from Cuba (Guampara Music), Denmark (Iceage) and Jinwook back-to-back Little Big Bee (Japan). Other acts performing across the festival's several stages this Friday through Sunday include John Cale and Seun Kuti & Egypt 80. DMZ Peace Train was started in 2018 with the help of Martin Elbourne, the veteran British promoter best-known for booking Glastonbury Festival. Watch a teaser clip for the 2019 edition.
