This Thursday, December 18, Honkytonks Open Sesame night welcomes special guest Gav Smith (Mr Bongo) from the UK. He'll be playing alongside the talented residents Ennio Styles and Kano. Gav has been djing since the early 90's cutting his DJ teeth with the warehouse scene of the early 90’s with funk, soul , Jazz and house. After becoming fascinated with Latin America, Gav joined forces with The Mr Bongo Records store in Soho London to start a label matching his music knowledge and along their retail expertise.
Gav's long sets are a mixed blend of rare Brazilian, Latin Funk, broken beat, deep house and Disco grooves laden with his imprint of soul. Sounds that are a perfect compliment to the Open Sesame style. Don't miss it when all this good music and the Honky's vibe is free!
