  • The Berlin club SOUNDS was damaged by an electrical fire last weekend. The majority of the Neukölln venue was reportedly affected. The club, which is dedicated to LGBTQ+ clubbers, is unlikely to reopen "in its current capacity." The fire is understood to have taken place on Saturday afternoon. No one was injured. In a statement, the club's owner said that SOUNDS had been "subjected to unsafe conditions which have led us to our current situation." The statement read: "We regret to inform you, with great sadness, that unfortunately an electrical fire broke out over the weekend which has ravaged [the] majority of SOUNDS. We are beyond thankful that no one was present, hurt, or injured in the incident and we are incredibly grateful to our neighbors for aiding in the situation as it happened." The statement went on: "We are raising money now to help cover the costs of recovering from this disaster, support our staff in this interim period, as well as hopefully provide enough funding for the creation of a new space." You can donate to SOUNDS' GoFundMe page here. Read the full statement.
