- The longtime Rephlex affiliate will release his next LP in September.
Next up on Central Processing Unit is Bochum Welt, real name Gianluigi Di Costanzo, who will release an album called Seafire.
Combining ambient and electro tracks, the album represents an evolution of the style he pioneered with mid-'90s releases on Rephlex, CPU says in a press release. Di Costanzo put his collection of "old monster synthesizers" to use on the LP, which is influenced by the legacy of the Sheffield scene that CPU has helped keep alive. He explains: "Many keyboard players I listened to in the past are from Sheffield: Martyn Ware and Ian Marsh (founding members of the Human League), Cabaret Voltaire and Mark White."
CPU has already had a handful of releases this year, including an album from Mikron and an EP from Cygnus.
