The conceptual label One Instrument will also put out records from Fahmi Mursyid and Alessandro Di Puccio.
As the name implies, the label only releases recordings made with one instrument. They've announced three new records, including one from Donato Dozzy, who put out Grand River's 2018 album, Pineapple, via Spazio Disponible. Recorded with the sought-after 1970s suitcase synth, the EMS Synthi AKS (visible in the accompanying image), it's the fifth release in the One Instrument catalogue, out in December. The 40-minute improv session is formatted into two long-form tracks.
Prior to that, the label has announced its third and fourth releases, out in September and November. First is an LP from Indonesian artist Fahmi Mursyid, which contains six recordings each made with a different instrument from the region, from the pan flute to bonang gongs. After that comes a 7-inch from Alessandro Di Puccio of vibraphone tracks which are the label's "most minimal work to date," the press release explains. The master recordings were kept in a drawer for 18 years before Grand River decided to release them.
