- Local artist Wave Racer kicks off the promoter's next venture.
Sydney's Astral People have started a record label.
Established in 2011 as an artist management company that currently looks after acts like Dro Carey, Retiree and Roland Tings, the Astral brand has since become a major player in the city's touring and events sphere, working with everyone from Moodymann, Danny Krivit and Omar-S to Autechre, Objekt and Laurel Halo. Their next move has been to launch Astral People Recordings, an outlet for artists within their roster as well as Australian and international producers, which will be part of the extended PIAS family of cooperative labels.
Sydney's Wave Racer is first up with the single "Summer Rain," featuring local rapper Kwame.
