- In addition to the archival collection, Missing Link, they'll reissue the sought-after LP from his band BGM.
Mule Musiq will put out an LP of unheard '80s music by Japanese pioneer Takayuki Shiraishi. They'll also reissue the debut album from his band, BGM, Back Ground Music.
Mule originally focused their efforts on reissuing Back Ground Music, one of the most sought-after Japanese new wave albums. But the deal with Vanity Records, who put it out in 1980, was "very complicated," the label says, so they started compiling unreleased music instead. That led to the creation of Missing Link, a 13-track collection that comes out on August 2nd.
When Vanity Records' owner Yuzuru Agi passed away last year, the rights returned to Shiraishi, who gave Mule license to reissue Back Ground Music. That will come out in October.
